Save your spot - 2 important outdoors business webinars

Our first community initiatives for 2025 - Industry 'Think In', April 2025 and a new Course focused on achieving Product / Market fit in the outdoors industry.

Hi again outdoors crowd! (We’ll have to come up with a better name than that..)

Ok, so after much questioning and deliberation, we’re going to delve into these two community initiatives a little further via a 30 mins introductory webinars taking place on Wednesday November 13th.

1. Day-long, sponsor free think in.

  • Proposed Event Date: Wednesday April 9th, 2025.

  • Location: Monterey, California (to coincide with the 2025 Sea Otter Classic Cycling Festival, beginning the following day - this is a great example of how an outdoors event can be run and is a very good case study to learn from)

  • Subject: Outdoor Industry ‘Think In’ and knowledge share in the form of round table discussions, panel discussions and workshops.

  • Costs: TBD - there will be some cost as the event will be sponsor free to maintain focus, but will be kept as low as possible. c. $900 is best estimate at this stage, including lunch, dinner etc.

  • Think-In attendees number: Under 100, via application, to make sure we have the correct focus

  • Introductory Webinar date: Wednesday November 13th

  • Time: 12 noon EST; 9am PT; 5pm UK time

2. Course specifically addressing Finding Product - Market fit in the outdoors industry

It’s all that matters. We’re going to critically delve further into:

  • Product - Market fit definition, along with examples of good and bad P/M fit

  • 3 Stages to address

    1. Problem / Solution - yes or no?

    2. Quality of the Market / TAM size?

    3. Price possibilities and importance / sensitivity?

  • Using Google Trends and other tools to analyze macro data

  • Use marketplace data and other sources to estimate TAM ± 15%

  • Landing pages - the holy grail

    1. Solution proposal

    2. Targeting of different groups

    3. Level of seriousness - deposit - presell

    4. The dangers of crowdfunding

    5. Actually sell

  • Critically analyze key metrics - CPA in particular - and compare to industry benchmarks

  • Decide to iterate or no

Webinar date and time: Wednesday November 13th, 12.45pm EST; 9.45am PT; 5.45pm Irish/UK time

Duration: 30 mins

Thanks in advance, I know both of these initiatives are really important for us, as outdoors industry professionals. Our industry is splintered, so we must build internal collaborations for knowledge share.
